1. Arusha – Momella Gate (1,500m) – Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Arusha to Momella Gate, the entrance of Arusha National Park. After registration, the trek starts with an exciting walking safari, where hikers may encounter buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and colobus monkeys. The trail winds through lush rainforests and open grasslands, offering stunning views of Ngurdoto Crater. The day ends with an overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut, nestled in the forest.
2. Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3,500m)
The trek continues through dense montane forests, where trekkers can spot blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, and diverse bird species. As the altitude increases, the trail opens up to moorland vegetation and alpine meadows. A short side hike to Little Meru (3,820m) offers breathtaking panoramic views before settling in for the night at Saddle Hut, preparing for the summit push.
3. Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak (4,566m) – Miriakamba Hut
